International hackathon «Wild life of Utashud»

If you want to not only relax in nature, but also help it, join us!

You will have to solve a real problem to help the Kronotsky Nature Reserve process a large array of observation data on the rookeries of larga seals and settlements of slaty gulls on Utashud Island (Kamchatka).

experienced and beginners up to 18 years of age (not inclusive)

The hackathon is individual and consists of 2 tracks: for experienced and beginner participants.

The track for beginners мcan take part in participants who have only recently begun their journey in programming and artificial intelligence and have not yet won major victories in competitions related to artificial intelligence.

Who cannot take part in the beginner track:

— Participants of the second qualifying stage, invited (admitted) to the final stage of the National Technology Olympiad in the following profiles: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Machine Learning, Neurotechnology and Cognitive Sciences, Financial Engineering, Analysis of Space Images and Geospatial Data, Autonomous Transport Systems (for all years);

— Winners and prize-winners of the International Artificial Intelligence Competition for Children AIIJC (for all years);

— "SCIENCEHack" hackaton winners;

— "AI-ACADEMY 2022" hackaton winners;

— Winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian competition “Digital Breakthrough” (for all years);

— Winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian competition of scientific and technological projects “Great Challenges” (for all years).


The advanced track is intended for more experienced participants and the challenge is more difficult. It is recommended that experienced participants who have already tried their hand at artificial intelligence and have their first serious achievements take part in it.

The 10 best participants in each track are recognized as hackathon finalists, the 3 best of them take 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The finalists will receive branded merch, and the winners in each track will share a prize fund of 475,000 thousand rubles.

Who can take a part?
Young programmers under 18. Participants who are minors on the days of the hackathon can take part in the hackathon.
May I take part if I don't know about AI?
Sure! For win you should know more about AI, but it is a great chance to try and understand which skills you need on the next competitions.
What I need to do?
To develop an algorithm that will allow processing a large array of observational data on larga seal rookeries and slaty gull settlements on Utashud Island (Kamchatka).
